About Us

The association aims to provide and communicate current information from a variety of clinical aspects, including nursing, medical and allied health professionals.

Along with branches in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia we form a network across Australia to provide a forum for Ophthalmic nurses in all settings to access information, professional opportunities and to network with colleagues. We have also formed links with the International Ophthalmic Nurses Association and the American Society of Ophthalmic Registered Nurses.

We have regular meetings, a newsletter, plus a conference biannually. We believe it is important to our profession that a special interest group such as this exists. It facilitates ongoing education and networking among different institutions. Membership will ensure you remain up-to-date in your chosen speciality, offering education seminars, discounts to other groups.

We look forward to welcoming you as a new member, or as a previous member with a renewed interest in the world of Ophthalmic nursing back to the AONA (Vic) branch.
